Fixing the Petlibro cat feeders

Feeder #1 - Blades mostly intact, but a couple are torn

Feeder #2 - Blades completely gone. Raccoons had torn all six of them off with their nightly raids. Without the blades, the kibble would just pour out. I closed the output gap to about 3/4" with roof flashing, but didn't know about the blades until I took the machine apart.

The blades are a soft rubber/silicone material molded on a center core that fits inside the plastic housing. Easy enough to remove the core as it  just pulls out of the housing. Replaced the six blades using small binder clips with the handles removed (used metal sheers to cut).

The triangle base of the binder clips inserted vertically fit snug in the grooves of the housing. Made six new blades out of 1" metal strap to match the size of the blades and inserted into the clips, then applied J-B WELD Plastic Bonder to secure.

Side note: Using the binder clips without the handles was an accident. Initially I had planned to somehow use the handles to hold the blades, but they were too long and wouldn’t fit in the feeder so I needed to shorten  them.
However, when I cut the handles with metal shears they just fell out of the base. I hadn’t made the connection that the handles were really springs in the base, and as soon as I cut, there went the tension. So now I had a couple of handle-free bases to play around with and voila, they fit perfectly in the grooves of the plastic housing.
