Proof Cases: Nice iPhone case, bad hinge design

I bought a Proof Cases case for my iPhone at MacWorld SF. After just a couple of months the hinge on the bottom part broke. I wrote Proof Cases and they promptly sent me a new case. Yesterday, the hinge broke on that one. In looking at the hinge, it’s easy to see it’s much thinner material than the rest of the case. Maybe Proof Cases could just make the whole case a little bigger so that the hinge scales up in size? Or maybe use a different, more durable material for that part? Anybody else have this problem? How would you fix it? Thanks!
