I saw a YouTube of a former brain surgeon recalling one of his mentors describing a scenario like thus: a leak from the roof has destroyed the wall below. The sheet rock is replaced and the wall repainted. Time passes and then the wall starts to get mold and once again, the sheetrock is replaced and the wall painted. Moral of this little story: until that leak in the roof is fixed, the problem will never goes away.
