How to improve your website (or not!)

I started making websites in 2000. Since then I’ve made many changes to them, some permanent, some rejected. It’s an interesting process – something comes along that seems like a good idea and I set about figuring out how to implement it. Once installed, I then find out if the site was better or worse with the “improvement.” Sometimes this can take awhile, but eventually it becomes obvious that the new thing is or is not helping. If it’s not, off it goes.
