Freeze-dried coffee (in spite of it’s bad reputation for flavor), is first and foremost convenient – no beans to grind or filters to clean. The exception is the crystsals sticking to the spoon when it’s being stirred. A few days ago I stumbled upon a happy accident. I microwaved a cup of coffee with only about a third of the cup filled with water and a tablespoon of coffee crystals. The result after about 30 seconds was that all the crystals had dissolved. I then just filled up the rest of the mug and zapped it again. Cup of coffee was done and no spoon was needed!
