Listening to the five hour coverage of the JFK assassination on YouTube from the original ABC Radio broadcast on the day of the shooting. Amazing to hear the events unfold and how it was reported. In particular, Clint Hill reporting JFK dead early in the broadcast @08:41 (and long before anyone else) was news to me! Here's the excerpt:
Also interesting is how many facts were wrong:
- Rifle reported as a Mauser 7.65
- LBJ also being shot in the arm
- LBJ having a heart attack
- Secret Service agent also being killed
The imagery the broadcast evokes is vivid and feels as if it's happening right now, not 53 years ago! In reality, almost all the voices you hear in the broadcast are from people that are long dead by now, ghosts.
