The more I know, the less I want to

It’s an interesting situation. You study something as intensely as you can to try to learn as much as possible only to find out that it’s not at all what you had imagined. Such is the case with Baccarat and gambling in general. When I was about 15, I became interested in gambling. I got some books on it with the notion that if I was educated about it I could be a successful gambler. Unfortunately, the more I read the more I realized that the only way I was going to be successful was either by owning a casino or working for one. The problem is the math. There’s really nothing having an education about probability can do if every game is skewed heavily in favor of the house. The net result was I lost my appetite to become a gambler way back then.

Not much has changed. The scenario is still the same. If you elect to gamble at casino, you should do so knowing the math. At least then you’ll know what you’re up against.
